I’ve thumbed through Joanna Gaine’s Magnolia Table cookbook a few times when I’ve been at Target (their line Hearth & Hand is so cute!) and the banana bread recipe always calls out to me.  It’s so simple, but it looks so good!  The recipe for “After School Banana Bread” is slightly different from most banana breads because it’s baked in an 8×8-inch baking dish instead of a loaf pan, and it’s dusted with granulated sugar before baking.  Read more

One of my longtime readers, Jessica, (HI JESS!) inspired this latest post.  She’ll be in Raleigh this summer and was wanting a few restaurant and bakery recommendations.  I only lived in Raleigh a year and a half, but definitely ate my fair share of Rise Donuts and Goodberry’s Frozen Custard.  I miss Raleigh so much!  It was a great place to live and work, and it would be a great place to come back and visit.   Read more

Last month was my boyfriend’s birthday and he requested Christina Tosi’s Crack Pie (from Momofuku Milk Bar) for his birthday dessert.  I think it was a really busy weekend or I got in late the night before or something, so I was unable to make it. I know, I know, I’m horrible!  I tried to make up for it and baked the pie for Valentine’s Day.
