Hey guys! It’s Emily. Welcome back to Wanderlustpig. I’m glad you’re here! I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend. Maybe while you’re mowing the lawn or going on that weekend run you can listen to one of these podcasts I’m loving. #1 Dumb People Town
This podcast will have you in stitches. My sister, Hannah, introduced me to this one a few months ago. It’s as much of an exploration as it is a celebration of dumb people doing dumb things. Dan Van Kirk, the Skylar brothers, and other famous comedians riff off these real life news stories.
I really like the episode with Andy Richter.
#2 Beautiful Anonymous
“One phone call. One hour. No names. No holds barred. That’s the premise behind Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People, hosted by comedian Chris Gethard. Every week, Chris opens the phone line to one anonymous caller, and he can’t hang up first, no matter what. From shocking confessions and family secrets to philosophical discussions and shameless self-promotion, anything can and will happen.”
Some of these people who call in have the craziest stories!
#3 Endless Thread
“Hosted by Ben Brock Johnson, Endless Thread, a new podcast from WBUR and Reddit, delves into Reddit’s vast communities to explore some of the most compelling stories the Internet has to offer, including revelations about our shared experience and powerful, personal stories. Also, cat videos. This is a show for Reddit connoisseurs, skeptics, and even the uninitiated.”
Oooh this one is so good. Probably my favorite podcast at the moment.
#4 It’s Been a Minute with Sam Sanders
“Sometimes you just need to talk it out—and that’s exactly what host Sam Sanders does each week. Join him on Fridays for a recap of the week’s news, culture and everything – plus Tuesday deep dives with artists, writers, journalists and more.”
Check out the recent episode about Ruth Bader Ginsburg!
#5 The Four Top
My boyfriend recently introduced this one to me and I’m really enjoying it. “Savor the conversation. Every other Monday, a roundtable of culinary media insiders discuss today’s hot-button topics in food and beverage culture. Hosted by Katherine Cole.”
Check out the recent episode about Julia and Paul Child and their love story. Of course I also enjoyed the recent episode about modern French pastry.
